In 2024, nearly 30,000 cosmetic procedures were performed in the UK – a 5% rise on 2023. While more and more people are getting tweaks to their bodies and faces, many people have not taken the plunge yet and gone under the knife. But which procedures are they eyeing?

To uncover the UK’s most sought-after plastic surgery procedures, VIP Italia analysed thousands of aspirational Google searches made by people in the early, exploratory stages of their cosmetic surgery journey. Rather than simply looking at broad search volumes for procedure names, the study focused on deeper, intent-driven queries that reveal a genuine interest in the practicalities, risks, and realities of surgery, such as:

• “Facelift recovery time”
• “Can you exercise after liposuction”
• “Best rhinoplasty surgeons”
• “Cheaper alternatives to facelift”

5  Most Sought-After Procedures

The research revealed that rhinoplasties (nose jobs) are the UK’s most desired cosmetic procedure, with 57,000 searches a month. A rhinoplasty reshapes the nose, refining the bridge, tip, or nostrils to improve both appearance and, in some cases, breathing. This procedure can dramatically refine your features and boost your confidence, so it’s easy to see why it’s a popular choice.

With 53,790 monthly searches, tummy tucks are also high on the wish list. This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the stomach area and tightens the underlying muscles, creating a firmer, flatter tummy. It’s especially popular among people who’ve lost a significant amount of weight.

In the third spot is liposuction, with 40,950 monthly searches. This procedure targets stubborn pockets of fat in areas like the hips, thighs, arms, and abdomen, sculpting and contouring the body for a more defined shape.

Facelifts are the fourth most searched procedure, attracting 37,290 monthly queries. A facelift tightens loose skin, reduces sagging, and smooths deep wrinkles, giving a more youthful and refreshed look. While it doesn’t stop the ageing process, it helps the face look noticeably firmer and smoother.

Rounding out the top five is breast reduction surgery, with 23,320 monthly searches. This procedure involves removing excess breast tissue and reshaping the breasts for a smaller and more proportionate appearance. Generally, it’s popular among women seeking relief from back pain and improved comfort.
